Rising indie artist Medium Build, also known as Nick Carpenter, is bringing his raw, emotionally charged sound to New Orleans on October 15, 2024, as part of his current headlining tour. The show will take place at the iconic Toulouse Theatre, offering fans a chance to experience his unique blend of indie rock, country, and introspective storytelling up close.

This New Orleans performance comes ahead of the release of Medium Build’s highly anticipated Marietta EP, due out November 15 on Slowplay/Island Records. In celebration of the EP, he recently released his new track, “Triple Marathon.” The song dives deep into the complexities of relationships, offering listeners a window into Carpenter’s personal experiences and reflective lyricism. “‘Triple Marathon’ is about a relationship-situationship-friendship thing where I just felt so desperate for this person’s approval and love and time and attention,” Carpenter explains.

The Marietta EP draws on Carpenter’s childhood experiences in Marietta, Georgia, reflecting on his upbringing and the emotional landscape of his adolescence. It’s a follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut full-length album Country, which explores the idea of home and his Southern roots. Medium Build’s music has been lauded for its “compassionate, conversational lyricism and grounded, grungy sound,” as noted by critics across NPR, Billboard, and The Tennessean.

Fans in New Orleans can expect an intimate and dynamic performance, blending Carpenter’s signature sound and powerful storytelling. Tickets for the show at Toulouse Theatre are available now, but given his growing fanbase and critical acclaim, they’re expected to sell out quickly. Don’t miss the chance to see this indie favorite live in the Big Easy.
